Our Monthly Adventures

So we decided that at least once a month we are going to do something different than our usual normal day-to-day activities.  Like go on a road trip, or try a restaurant featured on the Food Network, or just like that movie "Yes Man" with Jim Carrey, saying Yes to any opportunity that presents itself.

We have so far on our "list":

  • January - Road trip to San Jose with the kids
  • February - Taking the fam with me on a business trip to Anaheim (while I'm working, they'll be at Knotts Berry Farm) | 1st Laker Game
  • March - ???
  • April - Janet Jackson Concert @ Universal City Walk
  • May - 1st Wedding Anniversary trip back to Las Vegas | Pacquiao Fight
  • June - ???
  • July - Renting Beach Cottage for 4th of July weekend
  • August - Family Wedding In Washington
  • September - ???
  • October - ???
  • November - Friend Wedding in Maui
  • December - ???
Hopefully as the year progresses and opportunities arise we can replace the ??? with events, which will undoubtedly lead to memorable moments.  And that's what this whole list is all about.

Adios, Sayonara, Toodles, Peace Out

When the new year of 2011 rolled in.. Rick and I made the decision to cut Facebook out of our lives.  We realized we spent way too much time loggin' in on our iPhones every free moment we had.  Rather than living life for the sake of Facebook, like thinking, "Oh, I should post this on Facebook," or "Did you see what so-and-so posted?"

We wanted to just focus on what was really in front of us, in the flesh, laughing, crying, happy, upset, causing ruckus or calm and serene.  Our family. Our 3 kids and each other.  We decided that we were going to try something new or out of the norm at least once a month. We also decided to strengthen the relationship our family has with God.  Doesn't mean we are going to start quoting the bible or start preaching if you happen to bump into us.  Just means, that we will do, what we have to do, to show our many thanks to God for all the blessings and lessons He has bestowed upon us.  And won't be ashamed or think it's lame to do so.

And finally, the last item we decided to work on, is to focus on our own individual self.  Work on the items that we want to "improve" in ourselves.  Nobody is perfect.  Everyone has their faults and flaws.  No one can tell you to change, you must want it for yourself.

So for these reasons, we clicked the Deactivate Button on the Account Settings in Facebook.  And opted to click the Activate Button on OUR LIFE.

Although Facebook was a good way to connect with Family & Friends, I've started this blog for all those who were curious to see what my goof troop and I have been up to.  So happy reading..

Cheers to a wonderful, prosperous, memorable 2011!!
